Neutrino
The spectator is the driver and passenger of the experience.
The Train. Attributed weight. Threat and transport. The flat bubble.
Fragility and support. Windows. Passage.
Neutrino is an experiment about the attribution of weight. The attribution of meaning. And about the composite role of the spectator in constructing the reality. Interaction.
In this video installation, the film is shown continuously. And the image is only visible with the emergence of the support.Caused by the spectator.Image reflected in the flat bubble, which sustains it only as long as the water film holds out.Contentment and frustration. But we can retrace the course.Even if it's a different image. And a different support.
In the video, the train in diverse movements and shots.
In the flat bubble we can see the transformation of the support. The apparently disorderly movement of the liquid particles reveals the colours produced through the light refraction process. As time passes, the colours vanish. And the black and white announce the rupture of the flat bubble. We perceive the relation between the image, support and spectator.
In the photographs, time apparently fixed.Image transformed through movement.Time, transportation, movement, weight.Attributed meanings. And giving new meaning to the experience with the photographic junction of time and space. In time, the movement of the support meeting the movement of the image. In space, through the photographic junction of the physical aspect of the bubble and the aspect of the reflected image, a virtual image in the optical sense, reflected in the support but distant through our eyes.
Time and space related through the photographic equipment, constituting a new reality.

Neutrino, the word, is the scientific term for perhaps the most ethereal elementary particle. An invisible and almost undetectable particle, to which contemporary physics attributes almost zero mass and practically light speed.First postulated in the 1930s, its existence was only confirmed in 1956.
Particles that come from space and the Sun and that pass through our bodies all the time without our perceiving, without straying, as if the Earth were transparent. But, occasionally a neutrino interacts and leaves a trace. As Dr. Ernst W. Hamburger of IFUSP says:
“... The existence of the neutrino was indirectly inferred:when a radioactive atom suffers beta decay, emitting an electron, it simultaneously emits a neutrino, which causes slight recoil of the electron and the nucleus which has decayed;it is this recoil that is perceived. Neutrinos exert almost no force on other bodies, which is also why they easily pass through thick layers of matter. For instance, our planet Earth is continuously bombarded by millions of neutrinos from the Sun and other stars. The vast majority of these neutrinos go straight through the entire planet – vegetation, houses, mountains, oceans and the whole internal volume of the Earth – without suffering any deviation whatsoever, as if the Earth did not exist at all, as if it were transparent, and come out on the other side whereupon they continue their trajectory through space.Every second, numerous neutrinos pass through the bodies of each and every one of us, without any affect whatsoever on our body’s functioning.Indeed, mankind has lived with this bombardment of neutrinos and other particles, called cosmic rays, ever since our existence began.Only a few of the neutrinos that reach the Earth and collide with one of the terrestrial atoms actually produce other particles and have their course interrupted.”
Although I do not have a deep understanding of the physics, I am intrigued by the possibility of the theory – a representation system created by science – projecting and experimenting - through complex apparatus – the existence of a particle that passes through us without leaving any trace.Which is eventually perceived through its rare but concrete interaction.A kind of memory of the relation.
At the said limits between me and the other, we are left with relations. The interactions. And, fundamentally, the attributions of our conscience.Based on our memory.
